2025 saw one of the biggest projects for Structural Truss and Forma Steel – a new supportive housing complex in Lethbridge, designed specifically for vulnerable persons with mental health and drug addiction issues. Given a traditional Blackfoot name of Nokoowaayi (translated to “My Home”), this thirty unit, ten million dollar facility has been on the books for years, and has now finally opened its doors.

Collaboration is Key
Elevate Construction, a Lethbridge contractor with a long-standing relationship for both our companies, began construction in early 2025. Structural Truss provided pre-fabricated wall panels, floor cassettes, and roof trusses to the facility. Utilizing pre-fabricated panels and cassettes helps reduce time on-site for construction crews which is of vital importance for a project of this size and scope.

Modern Cladding For An Expert Finish
Forma Steel’s contribution was our signature Expand Modular Systems hidden fastener panels in Bright White. These were used as an accent to the exterior walls, most evidently used on the sides of the Tipi feature façade. There was also Forma Plank in Saddle Woodgrain Texture and the roof was made with Mechanical Loc in Bright White. The combination of the various panels, as well as the stark contrast between the white colour and woodgrain texture, make this building stand out as one of the most aesthetically vibrant and innovative in Southern Alberta.

The Importance of Aiding Our Community
Structural Truss and Forma Steel are both extremely proud to have contributed to such an important project. For more information on the Lethbridge Housing Authority, you can visit their website lethbridgehousing.ca.
